I’ve been following In Tiziana’s Corner on Ravelry ever since I joined in a Mystery Shawl Tiziana was hosting at the time (April 2011). This year Tiziana decided to do another Mystery Shawl but with a twist, WE the public helped create the shawl. Therefore this knit-a-long (KAL) is called the CreAL Shawl (Create-A-Long). Of course Tiziana has designed the shawl, but using our input in the form of shape of the shawl, what kind of stitches to be used. So having completed her own shawl, she then needed test knitters to test out the pattern and make sure there are no mistakes so that the KAL can be started towards the end of August.
I’m one of the lucky few who got chosen to test knit this design and work out all the kinks. This is going to be a major challenge for me because I’m knitting this in BLACK yarn, which as we all know isn’t the easiest to work with without proper lighting.
I’m using Garnstudio’s Drops Lace (70% alpaca 30% silk) with 3.75mm KnitPro circular needles.
My view while I was winding my yarn (all 1600m of it, 2 skeins x 800m each).
And the swatch, the photo isn’t the best as it was taken at night with poor lighting, but the pattern is visible (and that’s what we want).
So this is all I’m going to show of this project until the KAL has finished, as I don’t want to spoil the surprise for anyone joining in on this Mystery/No Mystery KAL starting at the end of August.
