This year I decided to join in the fun known as the Ravellenic Games 2012 on Ravelry. This had a different name previously but because of some issues with the USOC Ravelry was forced to change the name. Let’s just say that there were a lot of angry knitters after we all read the letter that USOC sent to the owners of Ravelry.
The idea behind the Ravellenic Games is for knitters to join events such as Hat Dash or Sock Put and many more of course. We choose a pattern we want to knit and cast on during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games beeing held in London this year. You can join a group or not, I decided to join the Feministy group, seeing as I started the year joining her Cowl KAL, and I wanted to repeat some of the cowls again, this is the perfect opportunity.
I’m going to be making a Travelling Woman Shawl and another Perpetually Persistant Cowl, I’ll show pictures of progress and yarns in a future post. Now to wait for the fun and games to begin.
