This morning after a nice hour long walk with my two dogs, I left them at home to go meet up with some friends at Ovelha Negra, the place to get the best yarns. These are some of the fantastic yarns and colours available:
Manos Del Uruguay Silk Blend
Manos Del Uruguay Maxima
Artesano Superwash Merino
Some more Artesano Superwash Merino
The newly arrived Debbie Bliss Realto Lace (the bordeaux is calling to me…..)
Essentials Cotton DK
After sitting and chatting for a while with Joana, the owner, and Fernanda (and of course taking photos), Fernanda and I headed to Magnus Coffee for the June meet-up. We had a small group this month, probably becuase today is the eve to a public holiday, S. João, and there’s going to be partying all night long. There will be BBQ’d sardines, green peppers and some broa (a local bread), and the calde verde soup, delicious. Anyway, back to our meet-up, here’s a couple of photos.
My new project, the last of the Arch Shawls KAL, the Squinch Shawl. I’m using some Kool-Aid dyed Lopo Xavier Trianon (a light fingering) in lettuce green. I’d used this yarn in a Mystery KAL, but I didn’t like how the shawl turned out, so I frogged it and am now using it for Squinch.
A finished shawl by Maria José made in Malabrigo Sock.
Angela came along and was knitting Shift of Focus by Veera Välimäki in a Navy Katia Cotton. The purple/orange WIP in the foreground is going to be a legwarmer and is being made by Fernanda.
Another one of my projects, a simple cowl in Dona Maria’s Handspun.
And of course we had some afternoon snacks and a drink. Another very enjoyable afternoon.
