Baby Girl

Every weekend my parents go to the local “farmer’s market” in Amarante and we now know the people we buy from, so we’ve formed a bit of a bond with them. I found out at Christmas time that one of the ladies was going to be a grandmother for the first time and the baby would be a little girl, so I knit up my go-to pattern for baby bootees in just an afternoon and this is how they turned out.

I used Lopo Xavier Ellis in Hot Pink (309) which I had left over from two vests I made, I used about 25 g total for both bootees. I’d forgotten the satin ribbon, so I ended up grabbing a bit of left over light pink yarn and some of the hot pink yarn and twisted them together to make the “ribbon” to tie the bootees, I really like how they turned out.

The grandmother to be was overwhelmed, and didn’t even know what to say, but she really appreciated the gift.
